Banking System Goes Digital: Acceptance of Fintech Services by Households of Saudi Arabia

  • Abul Hassan

摘要

FinTech has been offering pioneering financial solutions by incorporating information technology, and studies on the application of FinTech, particularly in emerging nations, have gained a lot of attention in recent years. This study aims to examine the extent of FinTech services adoption by households in Saudi Arabia by reviewing literature and employing a logit regression to analyze survey data on FinTech digital transformation and technology acceptance models. Saudi Arabia is progressing alongside its contemporaries in adopting modern digital technology and the financial services offered by non-bank high-tech start-ups. The findings of this study reveal that the household's degree of well-being and trust in financial literacy, modern technology, and widespread transparency influence their inclination to switch over to FinTech. Particularly, households with moderate levels of financial literacy, trust, and inclination towards transparency are characterized by a greater probability of accepting FinTech. On the other hand, the price experiences of households do not seem to significantly affect the switching probability.
