摘要

The increasing electrical energy consumption and the depreciation of the fossil fuel have prompted reliable energy supplements. Acute harmonic distortions and bad power quality are the results of applying the single-phase inverters (SPIs) when integrating renewable energy systems (RESs) into power grids. The use of multilevel inverters (MLIs) is significant in alleviating the problems since they enhance the volumetric quality and decrease the harmonic disturbances. A new topology of a cascaded switched diode (CSD) renewable energy-based multilevel inverter is described in this paper. Both 5 Level and 9 Level topologies of cascaded H-bridge (CHB) and CSD MLIs are examined with regard to performance. The suggested topologies are a sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) with an LC filter to decrease the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). The results show a substantial improvement of THD where it drops to a minimal of 0.95 percent when LC filter is employed. The circuit is executed in MATLAB/Simulink. As well, it has a compact circuit design with minimal switching losses, since the proposed design minimizes switches.
