Analysis of Regenerative Braking and Driving Behaviour on Electric Vehicle Performance
摘要
Electric vehicles (EVs) are the sustainable alternative to internal combustion (IC) engine vehicles and are gaining popularity in the modern transport. Energy efficiency of an EV can be improved by incorporating regenerative braking systems. It improves efficiency of EVs by recovering kinetic energy during deceleration or braking. The state of charge (SOC) and power usage of an EV are mainly examined in this paper in different driving behaviour utilizing regenerative braking capability. A simulation model is developed to analyse the effects of aggressive, moderate, and eco-driving profiles. Battery performance can be improved by energy recovery in regenerating mode. The simulation results investigate highest retention of SOC in eco-driving mode and having best energy efficiency. The study recommends utilization of adaptive regenerative braking strategies and modified driving behaviour for better EV performance and extended battery life.
