Globalization and the Future of Turkish Education

The acceleration of globalization, the unprecedented deepening of interdependence between states and societies, the fluidity of information, and simultaneous technological leaps are fundamentally redefining the purposes, functions, and boundaries of education systems these days. The tremendous development of communication technologies has integrated national borders and economies in this information age, making political and cultural isolation nearly impossible. This fluid and interdependent global structure has burdened educational institutions with the responsibility of nurturing individuals who are equipped to think beyond traditional nation-state boundaries, compete globally, and possess the complex skills required by the digital revolution.
