摘要

The integration of sensor networks and real-time data acquisition systems serves as a transformative foundation for modern precision agriculture by enabling continuous monitoring of soil, crop, environmental, livestock, and machinery parameters. This chapter analyzes the technological framework and operational principles reinforcing real-time farm data collection, with a focus on Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled sensing platforms, multi-layered communication networks, and data-driven decision-support systems. The functional roles of various sensors, including those for soil moisture, pH, temperature, nutrients, humidity, rainfall, radiation, and crop health, are examined in capturing high-resolution spatial and temporal data essential for adaptive farm management. The architecture of real-time agricultural monitoring systems is described using a layered model that integrates sensor nodes, edge devices, communication gateways, cloud-based storage, and artificial intelligence and machine learning analytics. Key operational parameters, such as latency, reliability, and accuracy, are assessed to evaluate system performance and data integrity. This chapter also details the processes of data sampling, synchronization, transmission, preprocessing, calibration, and storage within distributed edge, fog, and cloud computing environments. Case studies on precision irrigation, greenhouse monitoring, and large-scale farm data acquisition demonstrate the practical benefits of sensor-enabled agriculture in enhancing resource-use efficiency, crop productivity, and operational automation. Finally, critical challenges such as network connectivity constraints, sensor durability, data security, and cost scalability are addressed, underscoring the need for robust, affordable, and secure technological solutions to achieve sustainable smart farming.
