Agriculture has advanced beyond the transition from traditional methods, such as bullocks and low-yield crops, to tractors and high-yield varieties. It now represents a sophisticated integration of art and science, utilizing advanced technologies such as Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain to improve the production quality and reduce losses through predictive analytics. These technologies are increasingly impacting various agricultural sectors, including the poultry industry. While the poultry sector faces unique challenges compared to conventional agriculture, adopting these technologies has not been particularly difficult. Modern innovations, from predictive algorithms to blockchain applications, are transforming the egg industry to meet future demands. This chapter reviews the global state of the egg industry, highlighting major producers such as the United States, China, and India. It examines the economic factors that determine profit boundaries and margins for producers. The current level of technological integration has reshaped production and supply chains in the egg industry. This chapter provides a comprehensive analysis of the role of the egg industry within agriculture, exploring how digital transformation is reshaping production, distribution, and consumption patterns in key markets. Additionally, it discusses profit margin ranges as a critical factor for technological adoption and identifies markets with the greatest potential for future technological development.
