In Caenorhabditis elegans, exposure to pollutants induced transgenerational activation of germline Ephrin ligand EFN-3 and Ephrin receptor VAB-1. Activation of germline EFN-3 mediated transgenerational pollutant toxicity by causing VAB-1 activation in the offspring. During control of transgenerational pollutant toxicity, KSR-1/2, CED-1, SET-6, nuclear hormone receptors, and RAB-5 were identified as upregulators for germline EFN-3. VAB-1 functions in germline and neurons to regulate transgenerational pollutant toxicity. During control of transgenerational pollutants toxicity, NDK-1 and LIN-23 were identified as targets of germline VAB-1, and DBL-1, JNK-1, MPK-1, and GLB-10 were identified as targets of neuronal VAB-1.

摘要
