Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are the dominant source of pain and disability globally. The most prevalent conditions include low back pain, chronic joint pain, arthritis, neck pain, and soft tissue syndromes. Disability from MSDs is staggering, as it has a profound impact on daily functioning, societal and workforce participation, productivity, and healthcare costs worldwide. Recent advances in rehabilitation technology are transforming the assessment and management of MSK conditions. Artificial intelligence–driven systems are increasingly used to support clinical decision-making and personalised rehabilitation planning in musculoskeletal care. Wearable sensors, mobile health applications, and digital therapeutics facilitate continuous monitoring, remote rehabilitation, and patient self-management. Robotic-assisted therapies and virtual or augmented reality further enhance rehabilitation by enabling task-specific training, movement feedback, and engaging in therapeutic environments. This chapter explains how emerging technologies have been extensively integrated in musculoskeletal rehabilitation modalities for precise monitoring, assessment, and intervention. These technologies allow clinicians to quantify movement patterns, track patient progress in real-world environments, and enhance patient engagement in rehabilitation programs.
