摘要

Gastric cancer has an incidence of 5.6 per 100,000 people, making it the sixth most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death worldwide. Surgery is the main curative treatment for gastric cancer, with the goal of achieving an R0 resection. D2 lymphadenectomy is the standard procedure for resectable cancers, providing optimal oncologic outcomes with manageable morbidity. Surgery has a limited but evolving role in advanced disease, especially after a good response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy; R0 resection enhances survival in selected patients with limited metastases (e.g., solitary liver metastasis, para-aortic LN involvement).
