Surgical Complications of Enteric Fever

  • Kaushik Bhattacharya

摘要

Perforation and lower GI bleeding are the most common complications of enteric fever that require surgery. These complications usually arise in the third week of fever. Simple closure of the perforation and peritoneal lavage suffices in a stable patient. In lower GI bleeding, surgery is required for an ongoing exsanguinating bleed.
