摘要

In Todani’s classification, five types of choledochal cysts are identified; types I and IV make up the majority. Considered to be developmental in origin, APBJ is an important predisposing factor associated with choledochal cyst in 60–90% of cases. MRCP is the investigation of choice that not only delineates the cyst but also displays APBJ, the presence of stones, stricture, or malignancy. Resection of the extrahepatic segment of the cyst is recommended. Multiple intrahepatic cysts (types IVa and V) are difficult to manage and may ultimately require liver transplantation.
