摘要

Portal hypertension is defined as a pressure gradient of >6 between the portal venous system and the inferior vena cava or hepatic vein. Cirrhosis, NCPF, and EHPVO are the three most common causes of portal hypertension. Variceal bleeding is an essential complication of portal hypertension. Endoscopic treatment is often successful in controlling acute bleeding. TIPS has currently replaced shunt surgery for control of variceal bleeding in cirrhotic patients and serves as a bridge for liver transplant. PSRS is the preferred treatment for EHPVO, particularly for those presenting with symptomatic hypersplenism and bleeding
