Robustness of Cognitive SemCom

From the first generation (1G) voice systems to today’s 5G broadband, wireless throughput has expanded by several orders of magnitude. Even so, channels that operate close to the Shannon bound cannot keep pace with the explosive 6G-era traffic demand. Semantic communication (SemCom) has therefore emerged as a promising paradigm: rather than only guaranteeing symbol-level reliability, SemCom couples the transmitter’s semantic intent with the receiver’s interpretation.
