Agricultural Waste-Derived Catalysts for Environmental Application
摘要
Residue generated from agricultural activities is not just waste; it can be a valuable resource for developing other materials, enabling the recycling of resources, and preserving the limited naturally occurring resources. Agriculture, the largest occupation worldwide, is also a major generator of solid waste, particularly in developing countries, due to unmanaged agricultural practices. Agricultural waste is reported to be effectively used to prepare various materials for environmental remediation. This chapter discusses various catalyst preparations, including metal nanoparticles, graphene, activated carbon, SiO2 nanoparticles, and CaO nanoparticles, used in different catalytic reactions for environmental applications, such as water remediation and energy generation. Additionally, this chapter discusses the generation of agricultural waste and various techniques for its management.
