Diagnostic Approaches to Endocrine Disorders
摘要
Dysfunctional production, secretion or action of hormones results in endocrine disorders. They are diagnosed through a patient’s medical history, clinical examinations, and blood tests and further confirmed through dynamic tests, imaging, genetics, and biomarkers. Basal hormone tests that use high-sensitivity immunoassays. Dynamic tests look at stimulation to find deficiencies and suppression to find excess. Ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, and adrenal computed tomography scan help us to identify the structural problems. Genetic tests and biomarkers like copeptin help with subtyping. Multidisciplinary teams use evidence-based guidelines that help in better management of patients.
