Study on Comprehensive Operation Characteristics of Old Transmission Lines Under Mountain Fire Conditions

In this paper, a mathematical model of the comprehensive operation characteristics of transmission lines under mountain fire conditions is established, and the correlation between mechanical and electrical parameters is analyzed. Based on COMSOL simulation, the temperature and von Mises stress distribution of the wire caused by thermal radiation are analyzed, and the variation of the length, sag and stress of the wire when the surface temperature of the wire rises from 100 ℃ to 500 ℃ is studied. The results show that the high temperature makes the wire significantly elongated, and the growth rate is between 1.264 m and 11.087 m under five working conditions. The changes of sag and cross-sectional area further affect the current carrying capacity of the wire, which provides a theoretical basis for the study of the operation characteristics of the wire under the mountain fire environment.
