Application of OLIF51 for Adult Deformity Surgery

  • Yoshihisa Kotani

摘要

Historically, the management of adult spinal deformities (ASD) has been challenging for spine surgeons [1]. Adult spine deformity surgery carries a greater risk for several complications. The exclusive posterior or combined anterior–posterior surgery has been advocated in conjunction with posterior column or three-column osteotomy for the effective release for rigid spines [2, 3]. However, these surgical modalities involve excessive estimated blood loss, longer operation time, and higher rate of postoperative complications [4, 5].
