Exploring Generative Design for the Renovation of University Research Buildings to Facilitate Academic Information Dissemination
摘要
This study explores the renovation of research buildings at South China University of Technology using a multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA) for generative design. The process optimizes building area, visual accessibility, information capacity, and minimizes outdoor thermal radiation. Initial issues like inaccessible pathways and small rooms were resolved through algorithm refinement, while the second optimization round improved environmental adaptability. The final design meets key performance indicators, with manual adjustments enhancing local functionality. This research highlights the potential of intelligent algorithms in collaborative design and provides insights for university research building renovation.
