Analysis on Lightning Transient in a Controllable-Line-Commutated Converter with a Circuit Model
摘要
As the capacity of DC transmission systems continues to expand, the safety of converter under lightning strikes has increasingly gained attention. It is still unclear on the response of the Controllable Line Commutated Converter (CLCC) to lightning transient. Based on the parameters of the Ge'nan ± 500 kV/1200 MW DC project, this paper establishes a PSCAD model and uses two typical lightning current waveforms, 1/200 µs and 10/350 µs, injected into the DC and AC sides, respectively. Result shows that under the lightning injection, bridge 2 and bridge 5 of the CLCC exhibit significant overvoltage, with V13 inside the bridge 2 reaching an overvoltage peak up to ~ 23.5 p.u..
