Research on the Impact of Bolt Locking Agent Usage Based on Partial Discharge Anomaly Analysis

Bolted connections are critical mechanical fixing methods in GIS (Gas-Insulated Switchgear) equipment, and partial discharge faults caused by loose bolts seriously threaten the safety of power grids. This paper investigates the impact of bolt locking agents on discharge characteristics through a case study of a 1000 kV GIS circuit breaker with partial discharge anomalies due to bolt detachment, combining on-site detection, disassembly inspection, and finite element simulation. The results show that improper application of locking agents may cause poor bolt contact and floating potentials, increasing the risk of floating discharge. This study provides a theoretical basis and engineering recommendations for the collaborative control of mechanical and electrical properties in bolted connections of power equipment.
