70th-Anniversary of National School of Art

On the 10 of April, 1998, the school embraced its 70th-anniversary. The school staged a large-scale celebration, but this time the alumni were divided into several categories, and that made us very unhappy. As I can remember, Han Yuefu (Song of Poetry in the Han Dynasty) has a famous sentence describing brotherhood at school, “you in the sedan chair while I wear a shabby hat. When we meet on the street, you still get off and bow to me!” Compared to how the ancestors treated their classmates, the National School of Art acted inappropriately and did not display the fine tradition of ignoring snobbery and emphasizing morality seen in ancient China.
