Staying at the Farm for Employment

In the autumn of 1962, my re-education through labor was extended for another year and that year was up. The leadership asked me to go through the procedures for “applying for voluntary stay at the farm for employment.” I had no choice but to follow the leadership’s instructions and complete the application for voluntary stay at the farm for employment. Since then, my salary has increased to 28 yuan, a sharp increase of 10 yuan compared to the period of re-education through labor.
