Liberation

The president, Mr. Wang, left the school a few days before the final liberation due to the Communists’ victory. Thus, professors set up their school committee to deal with any potential problems, and they also established the supervisor’s committee. The warmhearted professors Zhou Qingding, Lin Fengmian, Wu Fuzhi, Pan Tianshou and Wu Dayu became the members of the school committee. Because Mr. Wu was in Shanghai, he appointed me to act on his behalf. The supervisor committee consisted of Xiao Chuanjiu, Dai Bingxin, Guan Liang, Lei Guiyuan and Zong Bingheng. From that moment on we were busy with various meetings each day to solve problems for the staff and students. None of us had any experience in this level of administration.
