The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation and Energy Labelling Regulation
摘要
The European Green Deal is a major framework under which a number of legislations have been initiated and maintained. While it is challenging to provide a comprehensive analysis of all components of the Green Deal, we choose to focus specifically on the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation and Energy Labelling Regulation. Both regulations are key for stakeholders to understand sustainability-related requirements for accessing the European Union Single Market. Specifically, the Ecodesign Regulation introduces a number of product categories (so-called Lots) which were originally introduced for clarifications on a working level but in the mean-time are broadly applied across industry. It is explained how the list of such product categories evolves over time according to so-called Ecodesign Working Plans. For identified product categories, specific legislations are being introduced to address market access requirements to be fulfilled by manufacturers.
