New Practices on Total Enteral Nutrition

In this chapter, the author illustrates an innovative and highly effective total enteral nutrition strategy developed by himself. To date, this strategy has been applied to hundreds of critically burned patients, including more than fifty cases with a burn size exceeding 90% TBSA. It optimizes nutritional supply and utilization, preserves the intestinal mucosal barrier, and effectively prevents enterogenic infection. Meanwhile, it greatly shortens the duration of central venous catheterization, thereby markedly reducing the positive rate of blood culture.
