Livestock systems’ sustainability takes into account social, economic, and environmental factors. Land usage, water consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and water quality are all aspects of environmental sustainability that are related to cattle production. The industry’s long-term survival depends on reducing adverse environmental effects and increasing beneficial effects from animal production. The environment can have an influence on livestock output, but it can also have an impact on animals. Climate change provides new issues for livestock production in the future via effects on feed availability, quality, and potential for increasing heat stress on cattle themselves. All things considered, cattle production will need to adjust to future climatic circumstances and human expectations, which will call for both technical solutions and strong socioeconomic incentives to support their adoption. Future research on environmental sustainability in cattle production may be grounded on the theories of agroecology, socioecological systems, and sustainable living. With a focus on methods like rotational grazing and integrated pest control to reduce environmental degradation, the guidelines support the advancement of sustainable livestock production practices. Research and innovation expenditures are essential for creating new technologies that improve sustainability, and educational programs provide farmers with the skills they need. In order to successfully handle environmental concerns, policymakers are advised to create legislation and offer incentives for sustainable behaviors. Collaboration among stakeholders is emphasized as being crucial. To achieve environmental sustainability in cattle production and strike a balance between conservation and development, a multimodal strategy including innovation, policy, education, and cooperation is necessary.
