Veterinary practice is facing an increasing challenge due to the rise of antimicrobial-resistant (AMR) bacteria. This expanding worldwide health issue has been exacerbated by the extensive use of antibiotics in livestock. In this regard, bacteriophage viruses that selectively infect and kill bacteria present a viable substitute for treating animal bacterial illnesses. This article investigates the mechanisms, advantages, difficulties, and possible applications of bacteriophages in veterinary medicine. Bacteriophages are being favored for biotechnological drive and used to treat infectious bacteria in a variety of areas of concern. Although a few distresses over the use of phage-related solutions. Phage treatment is believed to be more effective than antibiotics in treating bacterial infections. Although, as a result of recent exposure of resistant bacteria to antibiotics, phage therapy’s applications have become an unavoidable option for research. To deal with the difficulty of antimicrobial resistance, research workers are examining the use of phage therapy as a substitute and/or supplement to antibiotics act toward and stop infections both in animals and humans. In the time of growing antibiotic resistance, thoughtful and joining the power of bacteriophages could hold the key to communicate and pressing the health challenges globally.
