Response Characteristics of Semiconductor Lasers and Photodetectors
摘要
Lasers and detectors are the main devices of transmitters and receivers in optical wireless communication systems, respectively, and represent important parameters of the transmitters and receivers. This chapter establishes equivalent-circuit models based on the rate equation and analyzes the response characteristics of general double-heterojunction semiconductor lasers and PIN photodetectors from three aspects: DC characteristics, transient characteristics, and AC characteristics. It then focuses on the influence of lasers on DC, AC, and pulse signals, and discusses the factors affecting the performance of optoelectronic devices.
