Management and Care of Patients with Pulmonary Hypertension (PHTN)
摘要
Pulmonary hypertension (PHTN) is a rare but serious condition. It is a disease in which the pulmonary artery pressure is elevated. This elevated pressure will lead to decreased blood flow to the lungs and it puts an extra stress on the right side of the heart leading to signs and symptoms of right heart failure. Pulmonary artery disease in children is unlike the disease in adults as it is most commonly secondary to other causes like prematurity, congenital heart disease (CHD), autoimmune diseases, or associated syndromes.
