Chest pain is common presenting complaint, with overwhelming majority of cases due to non-cardiac causes. The initial assessment is essentially to exclude serious disorders and to provide appropriate treatment in timely manner. General approach is to identify potential risk factors associated with serious disease which will be discussed in this part.
