Elementary Concepts in Elasticity
摘要
To study the applications of finite element method in structural and continuum mechanics, sufficient background in the basic principles of solid mechanics is essential. This chapter deals with the rudiments of solid mechanics, i.e. theory of elasticity in simple form. The vector notation is used in this treatment. Exercise problems are given at the end to make students grasp the concepts better through problem solving. References to additional reading material are also given.
