Physicochemical Properties of the Ideal Materials for Cardiac Devices

摘要

At present, the treatment of heart-related diseases does not only rely on oral or intravenous drugs, but often requires the use of the appropriate medical equipment according to different diseases. Metallic, polymeric, and inorganic materials are individually or in combination to form a variety of medical devices as expected. In this chapter, we will introduce technical requirements for material properties of four kinds of cardiac devices including non-implantable interventional devices, implantable interventional devices, tissue engineering scaffolds, and drug carriers, as well as the test methods and evaluation standards for corresponding properties.
