Nano Starch: A Review

摘要

A naturally occurring polymer, starch is used extensively in a variety of global sectors. Starch nanoparticles (SNPs) are often made in one of two ways: bottom-up or top-down. Smaller-sized SNPs can be produced and employed to enhance starch’s functional properties (Marta et al., Polymers 15(5), 2023). According to recent research, nanostarch particles may be easily created from starch grains, which have distinct physical characteristics. Starch nanoparticles are indicated as one of the potential biomaterials for innovative applications in meals, beauty products, pharmaceuticals, and different composites (Kim et al., Colloids Surf. B: Biointerfaces 126, 607–620, 2015). This review chapter aims to provide a comprehensive review of the production, delineation, properties, and uses of starch nanoparticles (Le Corre et al., Biomacromolecules 11(5), 1139–1153, 2010).
