Fisheries
摘要
Overfishing is not only the most significant problem facing many fisheries worldwide, it is perhaps the most significant issue facing marine ecosystems overall. This is not to detract from other severe issues that exist in some locales; however, because fishing fleets are vast and widespread, and cause direct mortality to harvested organisms—often with incidental impacts on habitat—overfishing remains a major threat to ocean health at the global scale, rivaled only by climate change.
