Introduction

This chapter aims at providing general information about this special volume in honor of Yoshihisa Kitagawa’s contributions to the field of linguistics, encompassing syntax and beyond. The theme of this volume, Linguistic Interfaces in East Asian Languages, is introduced, a sketch of Professor Kitagawa’s academic career and research is presented, and the chapters that constitute the remainder of this book are briefly summarized.
