Dabbling in Mathematical Statistics

This chapter, as the continuation of Chap. 6, mainly introduces Wang Yuan’s work, in cooperation with his younger colleague Fang Kaitai in 1980s, on applying number theory to the research of statistics and establishing the Uniform Design Method widely used in industry, agriculture and national defense. Mathematicians are more often believed to be working individually, how can it be a fruitful win-win game in Wang Yuan’s hand? Please read this chapter as a case example.
