China-Europe Railway Express (Chongqing): The Transition from “Yuxin’ou” to “Yaxin’ou”
摘要
Being one of the pivotal strategies in Chongqing’s transformation into an inland open highland, the Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe railway (“Yuxinou”) International Railway Corridor officially initiated its operations in March 2011. With the continuous expansion of the “Yuxinou” route’s operations and its growing influence and reach, the Chongqing municipal government introduced the “Yuxinou+” initiative in 2016. This strategic development aims to create a new multimodal logistics corridor that integrates railways, highways, and air transport, known as the Asia-Xinjiang-Europe or “Yaxinou” strategy. This strategic upgrade is more optimized than the previous “Yuxinou” route, offering broader coverage, reduced transportation costs, and enhanced support for Chongqing’s external trade activities.
