Pluralism and Populism: A Western Perspective
摘要
This essay examines the relationship between the concepts of pluralism and populism. Pluralism, the openness to multiple perspectives, is discussed here as an ideal and as a political practice. Pluralism is then discussed in relation to populism, understood here as its antithesis. This entry concludes by addressing the implications of populism’s rise given the unfulfilled promises of pluralist democracy.
