摘要

Populism in a post-truth digital world shows the instability in political reality and the elitist representation. It is the people’s demand against those in power. Populist ideas only exist in the desire to oppose the elitist mentality. Cynical attitudes toward politics, like that of the post-truth where every political agenda seems to be based on lies or soft truth, challenge the populist agenda of inclusivity and equality. Digital media today helps post-truth ideas and alternative facts to spread where the truth is based on a single perspective. These two socio-political concepts feed each other. Scholars have studied memes to trace the populist ideas in the digital content of the post-truth world. Digital nonsense aids the populist agendas and parodies post-truth falsity. It can be used to interpret socio-political issues. The multimodal form of digital nonsense captures the essence of post-truth parody, and it spreads as easily as the political and social lies circulated over the internet. This entry will look at digital nonsense as an aid to question post-truth populism.
