Religious Undercurrents and Populist Responses

The neo-populist lens of viewing religious undercurrents is dualistic; the religious undercurrents that neoliberalism has manufactured as an end product and the agencies in power using popular religious sentiments as an instrument, labeled as the ideational. The study discusses both the emergent discourses, as an end product the paper discusses the exclusionary dichotomous identities at the backdrop of global literature. Religious sentiments and agencies have also been employed as vectors to drive identitarianism and sectarianism and subsequently fundamentalism in various nation-states such as Australia, Malaysia, Burma, Germany, and India. There are also technologies that the ned-populists use to reinforce the exclusionary practice such as rites, rituals, and symbolism.
