摘要

This chapter addresses how the TVET sector in Brunei Darussalam has evolved and been restructured since its establishment during the early 1970s. The chapter illustrates the pivotal role of TVET in realizing the nation’s vision for its development by 2035. It begins with an overview of the TVET sector, presenting its historical development and experience of institutional reform in response to workforce demands and economic growth. The chapter then reports on the types and levels of programs, student assessment policies and practices, the curriculum delivered, and how quality assurance is implemented. The chapter also discusses issues relating to inclusion and equity, the leverage of digital learning tools to support teaching and learning, and the professional development of TVET teachers. The final two sections of the chapter highlight challenges experienced in matching student demand with the need to supply skills and capabilities required by the labor market. The chapter generally identifies a need for strengthening partnerships between the TVET sector and its stakeholders to ensure viability and sustainable expansion.
