Vocational Education and Training in Lao People’s Democratic Republic

This chapter provides an overview of the TVET sector in Laos, examining its status and challenges. These challenges include limited resources and a weak monitoring and evaluation system that hinder the practical implementation of quality standards. The chapter also sheds light on the lack of industry engagement opportunities and the nascent state of digital learning adoption in TVET institutions. The chapter highlights the need for policy alignment with resource allocation and policy implementation strategies to enhance the quality and effectiveness of TVET education in Laos.
