CSR Interventions in Addressing Issues of Elderly Poor in India
摘要
Population aging is a global phenomenon today. Though it was a major concern of the developed world, the rapid process of aging transition is taking place in developing countries. In general, transition economies are noted for resource constraints and a lack of initiatives in terms of policies and programs for the welfare of older adults. It emphasizes the need for initiatives that involve public and private institutions and civil society. In India, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) taps some vital resources for the needy sectors from the corporations. The chapter examines the CSR activities of the National Stock Exchange of India Limited and its subsidiaries (NSE Group), with a broad vision to enhance the well-being of underprivileged and marginalized communities.
