Introduction
摘要
The advent of significant changes in the Catholic church stems externally from revolutionary technology, internally from Pope Francis, and from the radical suggestions of the Synodal Meeting 2013–2015. This will have great impacts on local churches. A self-assessment of these local East Asia churches is necessary for self-identification before they can face the associated challenges. This handbook provides sufficient material and analysis on the Catholic church in East Asia, for a comprehensive study of the church. The investigating areas include history of evangelization, role of foreign missionaries, church-state relations, and instruments for evangelization (church building, Bible translation, music, and holy images).
