Magnetosome, a remarkable biomolecule produced by a diverse group of magnetotactic bacteria, has emerged as a promising avenue in cancer management. These versatile nanoparticles possess exceptional properties, including customizable modification, high bioavailability superparamagnetic and uniform size distribution. In this chapter, we delve into the biodiversity of magnetotactic bacteria, explore the intricate structure of magnetosomes, and elucidate synthesis and production strategies. We also investigate the wide range of applications magnetosomes for in cancer management, specifically, focusing on methods for modifying them for drug delivery. Additionally, we address the challenges in this evolving field and consider future application’s. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the application of magnetosome in cancer treatment and highlight the recent trends in magnetosome production platform.
