Compact Metamaterial Antenna for WLAN/Bluetooth Applications
摘要
In modern portable microwave and millimeter wave wireless systems, limited space is given to an antenna, which means antennas needs to be electrically small in size and compact in nature. However, reduction in the length of the conventional antennas leads to degradation in performance and complex in mechanical assembly. Therefore, the designing of miniaturized antennas with improved performance for application in modern wireless communication systems is highly challenging using traditional method. The metamaterial-inspired antenna plays a solution to produce antennas with a small footprint with improved parameters. In this chapter, two metamaterial loaded antennas for WLAN/Bluetooth applications have been discussed.
