Starch-Based Rubber Nanocomposites
摘要
There has been an increasing need to replace the conventional fillers used in rubber with the bio-based materials, which are easily available, renewable and biocompatible. Nanobiofillers are gaining even more importance due to their better reinforcing capability with much less loading. In this context, we aim to include the basic structure, properties, and synthesis methodology of starch nanoparticles. We have also incorporated the preparation methods for fabricating rubber-based composites of starch and the various techniques for characterising these composites like XRD, FTIR, DSC, DMA, SEM, TEM and so on. This chapter paves a way for getting a better understanding regarding the structure and properties of starch nanocrystals and its rubber-based composites.
