Cellulose Based Rubber Blends and Microcomposites

Cellulose-based rubber blends and microcomposites have attracted the attention of many researchers due to their unique mechanical properties. This chapter provides a thorough summary of the mechanical properties of cellulose-reinforced natural rubber (NR) microcomposite blends and an outline of the isolation of cellulose and its derivatives. A succinct overview of the literature is presented including types of composites, blends, isolation of cellulose and its derivatives, and characteristics of cellulose-based rubber blends and microcomposites. Besides the challenges and future prospects on cellulose-based rubber blends and microcomposites are also discussed in this chapter.
