This chapter provides a comparative analysis of how regional human rights systems address the question of execution of judgments issued by the respective Courts, and the supervisory mechanisms utilised for that purpose. It considers the obligations imposed on the contracting parties to the treaties that establish the regional human rights Courts in respect of the execution of judgments, the effectiveness of the supervisory mechanisms available to oversee their execution, as well as how the process could be improved. The chapter considers both specific State compliance through the implementation of remedies in individual cases and general State compliance through the implementation of domestic measures to prevent future violations. Through this comparative analysis of the execution of judgments, and their supervision, the chapter examines the issue of partial or non-compliance and discusses the effectiveness of the respective regimes in remedying human rights violations.

摘要
