This chapter seeks to summarise the various conclusions reached in previous chapters of this monograph. This chapter will identify that the International Criminal Court’s frameworks for non-cooperation, along with the remedies at the disposal of the ICC Assembly of States Parties and the UN Security Council have been ineffective in responding to and remedying instances of non-cooperation in an effective manner. This chapter will also highlight that frameworks other than those contained in the Rome Statute may be suitable for addressing these instances of non-cooperation or otherwise complementing existing responses to non-cooperation. This includes frameworks present within the responsibility to protect, as well as various sources of general international law. This chapter will then conclude the study by proposing several recommendations for strengthening and complementing the ICC’s responses to non-cooperation through the application of frameworks identified throughout this book.
